Industrial Packaging Type 1
Used to transport two types of material:
- material with low radioactivity per unit mass (e.g., hospital waste);
- non-radioactive objects with low levels of surface contamination (e.g., laboratory jackets, coveralls).
Packages such as steel drums or bins could meet these requirements, but purpose-designed packages are also frequently used.
