Environmental Management Advisory Board (EMAB) -
provides the Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management (EM), with
information, advice, and recommendations concerning issues affecting the EM
program including, but not limited to: project management and oversight;
cost/benefit analyses; program performance; contracts and acquisition
strategies; human capital development; and site end-states activities. The
Board is chartered under the Federal Advisory Committee Act . |

Environmental Management Site-Specific Advisory Board (EM SSAB)
- At the request of the Assistant Secretary or the Field Managers, the Board
may provide advice and recommendations concerning the following EM
site-specific issues: clean-up standards and environmental restoration; waste
management and disposition; stabilization and disposition of non-stockpile
nuclear materials; excess facilities; future land use and long term
stewardship; risk assessment and management; and clean-up science and
technology activities. |

Applied Cost Engineering Team
- In the present environment of budgetary constraints and increased scrutiny from Congress and stakeholders,
the Department of Energy (DOE) Environmental Management (EM) program has been challenged to reduce and control
costs. The Environmental Management (EM) Applied Cost Engineering (ACE) Team was established to promote
continuous cost improvements through dissemination of cost engineering tools, methods, techniques, best
practices, and lessons learned across the EM complex. The Office of Strategic Planning and Analysis Project
Management serves as the EM corporate lead for cost estimation policy and procedures, as well as the an
advocate for the cost estimation center at the EM Consolidated Business Center (CBC). |
