A major objective in the Office of Environmental Management (EM) is to assure effective
acquisition and project management in the execution of the program. To meet this
objective, EM has created a business process that allows procurements to be treated
as part of an ongoing system that vertically integrates acquisition planning and
project management, leading to more effective management of contracts. In
collaboration with DOE Office of Procurement and Assistance Management , EM develops
and implements site and project specific acquisition and contract strategies,
interacting with the Consolidated
Business Center (CBC)
on procurements at sites under its procurement authority, and oversees the execution
of contracts including the execution of all cleanup and closure contracts in the
field, as well as the implementation of project management of projects.
Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) Contracts
On October 7, 2004, the Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Environmental
Management (EM) awarded 22 Nationwide Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite
Quantity (ID/IQ) Multiple Award Task Order Contracts . The contracts
were awarded to a field of Small Disadvantaged [Section 8(a)] Businesses, Small
Businesses, and Large Businesses to perform environmental cleanup at DOE sites
within the Continental United States.
